Gordon Ramsay Saws His Daughter Tilly in Half for Magic Trick on MasterChef Junior
“Mom’s going to hear about this,” Tilly says in an exclusive first look at Monday’s episode
Gordon Ramsay is cooking up some magic on the latest episode of MasterChef Junior.
PEOPLE has an exclusive first-look at next week’s episode of the FOX cooking competition. Ramsay is seen shocking and delighting the young contestants with a magic trick involving his daughter Matilda “Tilly” Ramsay.
In the “Magic Castle” episode, which airs on Monday, March 25, Gordon is decked out in a tuxedo and standing on a stage. He welcomes the eight chefs into the theater, each one dressed in formal attire.
“You guys look amazing, by the way,” Gordon tells the children as they get seated.
“I’ve got a big trick up my sleeve,” he says while the curtains open and reveal Tilly, 22, in a box with just her head and feet sticking out.
“Hello, Tilly!” the father of six jokes, pinching her cheeks as she playfully yells, “Stop it!”
“Tilly!” one contestant shouted with a hint of panic in her voice.
“Cut it out! I don’t think this is a good idea, Dad,” the MasterChef Junior newbie pleads.
The contestants, all between the ages of 8 and 13, laugh at the father-daughter antics on the stage.
Gordon starts, “You know I’m an expert at slicing and dicing—”
“Not your daughter!” Tilly interrupts.
The young chefs all gasp, some asking “What?” and others raising their hands over their mouths.
“Kids, do you know what time it is?” Gordon asks the contestants, who all shake their heads. “It’s halftime!”
“Dad, Mom’s going to hear about this,” Tilly warns.
The kids all exclaim as each blade is inserted in the box. Once the cookbook author runs out of blades, he separates the two halves of the box, showing the shocked contestants that Tilly is split in half.
“Cut it out, Dad,” Tilly says.
“I already did!” Gordon responds, wheeling the top half of his daughter off the stage.
Tilly joined the season 9 of MasterChef Junior as a full-time judge for the first time, working alongside returning judges Aarón Sánchez and Daphne Oz.
“We’d commute home together,” Tilly told PEOPLE of working with her dad. “The car journeys home in the evening were lovely. We’d just chat about everything about the day. It’s just such a nice thing to do with him, spend that time together.”
She added, “I grew up watching him leave for work in the morning and come home in the afternoon and I’d always say, ‘Oh, what did they cook today? What did you try? How was this? How was that?’ So now actually doing it with him and living those stories he used to tell me and getting to know the kids in a way that he gets to is really great.”
MasterChef Junior airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
