Gordon Ramsay left gobsmacked after one of his chefs makes insult which was too far even for him
Even Gordon was shocked by his retort
Gordon Ramsay is well known for kicking off on Hell’s Kitchen. In fact, we’ve even been left a little scared ourselves.
If you’re in Gordon’s kitchen and you’re doing something wrong, you’ll certainly know about it.
But even he was surprised when one chef delivered a pretty harsh insult to the rest of his team. You can see his reaction here:
In one old episode of Hell’s Kitchen from season one, Gordon can be seen observing one contestant, Michael Wray, who actually went on to be crowned the winner.
After receiving an order from the restaurant, Michael called out the ticket, but was pretty quiet in doing so.
He was told off by Gordon, who accused him of ‘reading the dictionary at bedtime’.
Michael acknowledged his mistake and the fact he appeared to be too polite to the other contestants.
Then, moments later and seemingly out of nowhere, Michael shouted to the rest of the team: “You guys cook like old people f**k”.
Well, that’s a new one.
Even Gordon – master of insults – was pretty stunned and could be seen laughing away in the corner.
“Michael hadn’t said anything to any of his team. Then all of a sudden he put his head down and turned around to them and said ‘you guys cook like old people f**k’,” he said.
“That came out of the blue, I wouldn’t expect something like that to come out of his mouth.
“However, he started understanding how he had to put energy into his team.”
The moment has always been pretty iconic in Hell’s Kitchen history.
Commenting on a clip of the scene, one person wrote: “If you make Gordon blush and then laugh in the kitchen you deserve an honorary Michelin Star.”
While another added: “What’s even funnier was how the others replied with ‘Yes Chef, thank you Chef’, as if he was Gordon Ramsay.”
And a third said: “Gordon’s laughing because it’s lowkey something that he would say.”
Recently, the restauranteur, revealed whether his outbursts are real or for the cameras.
A 2009 episode of Great British Nightmare exemplified just how much chef Ramsay likes to swear, as he uttered a total of 312 swear words in just 103 minutes, including 240 F-bombs.
On an episode of the High Performance podcast, host and broadcaster Jake Humphrey asked him straight out if producers ever spoke about ‘formats and personalities’ with the TV star.
“How much did you think about your TV persona?” asked the former BBC presenter.
To which Ramsey bluntly replied: “I didn’t, I didn’t give a s**t.”
Humphrey quickly followed up: “So even when you were going on chat shows and like saying outrageous stuff or dropping in the odd swear word, you weren’t thinking, ‘How can I have the most impact in this next 10 minutes?”
Ramsay explained: “I never had those preconceived ideas, Jake. You don’t go in there with that.”
