Famous TV chef Gordon Ramsay has been left impressed by a County Roscommon farm.
As part of his new TV show, Gordon Ramsay: Unchartered, the famous chef visited Castlemine Farm in County Roscommon.
The farm is an award-winning producer of aged beef, lamb and pork.
All animals are hand-reared and pasture-fed on the family farm in county Roscommon while the meat is fully traceable, direct from the farm, prepared and packaged by their skilled butchers.
During his visit to the county, Mr Ramsey was put to work on the farm and even cooked some of the farm’s famous lamb.
Castlemine Farm announced the news of their appearance on the show on social media and said they were excited for the programme to air.
“The beautiful West of Ireland showcased by one of the best.
“We were so grateful to have had our Lamb cooked by Gordon and to have had an opportunity to welcome him and his fantastic crew to our Farm and Home.
“He was a gentleman and such great fun.
“Memories for a life time and for a small business it is something you can only wish for.
“Let hope you enjoy it.”
As a parting gift to the chef, Colm Noonan, a local artist painted a unique piece for the farm staff to present to Mr Ramsay on his visit.
“A nice nod to Roscommon in the painting with the county colours,” said the farm staff.
In the National Geographic series Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted, the chef journeys to some of the most incredible and remote locations on Earth in search of culinary inspiration, epic adventures, and cultural experiences he will never forget.
The series will be available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu from Tuesday, May 28.
