Chicago Fire is down another man.
PEOPLE has confirmed that Michael Bradway is leaving his recurring role in the NBC procedural ahead of season 14. The actor, 26, played firefighter Jack Damon, the younger half-brother of Taylor Kinney’s Kelly Severide, for a total of 17 episodes over the course of two seasons.
This comes on the heels of the announcement that Bradway was cast in a series adaptation of Carley Fortune’s 2022 romance novel Every Summer After on Prime Video. He celebrated the news on Instagram on Thursday, July 17, posting a screenshot of the Deadline announcement, alongside a sweet caption.
“Couldn’t be more excited to be your Charlie 🚤,” he wrote.
The new series is already in production, while the new season of Chicago Fire is expected to begin production by the end of July.
Still, PEOPLE confirms producers of Chicago Fire are open to welcoming Bradway back in the future should schedules allow.
In April, it was revealed that two other series regulars, Daniel Kyri and Jake Lockett, are also saying goodbye to the first-responder drama.
Kyri, 30, had taken on the role of firefighter Darren Ritter for the past seven seasons, starting as a guest star before being promoted to series regular. Lockett, also 30, had portrayed firefighter Sam Carver for three seasons.
In an Instagram Story at the time, Kyri confirmed his exit with a short message to fans.
“I’ll miss this character, and it’s time to move on,” he wrote alongside a kissy face emoji. “Thank you to the cast, crew & the awesome fans.”
Per Deadline, which was the first to report the news, the actors’ exits are believed to be the result of budget cuts. Sources told the outlet that there may be more exits across all five of the One Chicago franchise’s shows, which also include Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med.
Last month, On Call actor Brandon Larracuente was announced as the first new cast member joining Chicago Fire in the upcoming season.
The One Chicago finales in May saw all its characters deal with major personal events. Hannah (Jessy Schram) was processing her surprise pregnancy on Chicago Med, while Chicago P.D.’s Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and Adam Ruzek (Patrick Flueger) got married and Chicago Fire’s new Chief Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney) was arrested for the attempted murder of the man who killed his wife.
