Golden Bachelorette’s Jonathan Rone Mistaken for The Rock—And He’s Loving It!

Golden Bachelorette star Jonathan Rone was mistaken as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson by a well-intentioned fan.

“Once upon a time in New York, it was just another day being mistaken for a celebrity — the ROCK — nonetheless!” Rone, 62, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, March 9, alongside a video and photos of him posing with a fan in New York City. In the clip, the woman can be heard asking Rone for an autograph after inquiring if he was “The Rock.”

“I guess the paparazzi missed me but this onlooker didn’t😎,” Rone’s caption continued. “I was extremely flattered ❤️ Have you ever been mistaken for a celebrity?”

Rone originally appeared on season 1 of The Golden Bachelorette, which aired in 2024, vying for the affections of Joan Vassos. (Vassos, 62, ended her season engaged to Chock Chapple.)

Rone’s celebrity moment in New York came after he announced the end of his relationship to Michelle Zimmerman last month. “It was fun, it was fast and it just didn’t last,” he wrote via Instagram on February 22, adding that he was “grateful for all of the experiences” that he shared with his ex, such as meeting her “amazing” friends and family.

“Nothing is wasted in the universe of time and so I think moving forward I only hope and wish the best for both of us,” he continued. “And so that being said, I’m just left with these feelings and these reflections of thinking.”

He continued, “Why is it that my relationships always end in a way that I don’t see coming? Where do I fall short? Am I not enough? Am I not worthy enough? So those are silly things to think about because I know that I am.”

However, he noted that Vassos had given him “some validation,” adding, “So I know that I am worthy, I know that I have enough. I have a big heart and I show up. I’m open. I’m loyal. I’m honest. I’m committed.”

In November 2024, Rone hinted via Instagram that Zimmerman might be The One, calling her his potential “second chance” at true love.

“‘So I Dropped The Bomb’… I started my journey looking for love, a love that is a forever love,” Rone captioned his November 8 post, alongside a photo of him and Zimmerman holding hands. “A love I thought I once had but this was my second chance! So, I went all in with no walls to protect my vulnerability. I had no other intentions than that.”
