The Golden Bachelorette star Joan Vassos is still keeping things long-distance with her fiancé, Chock Chapple. The two got engaged during The Golden Bachelorette Season 1 finale and started hunting for a place in New York City soon after. However, it looks like the two are in no rush to settle down anytime soon. In fact, Vassos believes that she and Chapple don’t need to be together all the time for their relationship to thrive.
The first-ever Golden Bachelorette spoke with Parade at an event for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, where she was recently named their ambassador. According to Vassos, she and Chapple have “pretty rich lives” in their 60s. The reality star confessed that the two of them have established routines, families, and commitments in their own cities. So, instead of “spending every waking moment together,” they are embracing the flexibility that comes with falling in love in their 60s.
Vassos clarified that she and Chapple visit each other pretty often and enjoy their time together. She revealed that they often meet up in New York to go house-hunting and take vacations together. “We’re not living with each other, but we’re kind of living our best lives,” added Vassos. The reality star previously revealed that her and Chapple’s wedding planning had taken a backseat. However, she reassured fans that they do intend to get married — but with no biological clocks ticking, the couple is happy to take things slow.
Another ‘The Golden Bachelorette’ Finalist Lands a Role on ‘General Hospital’
After working as an ER doctor for more than three decades, Guy Gansert is returning to the hospital, only this time, it’s on the small screen! The Golden Bachelorette Season 1 runner-up is making his acting debut with a guest role on the American daytime soap General Hospital. Gansert is set to appear on the March 12, 2025, episode of the show as a wildlife journalist named Geoffrey.
A PEOPLE exclusive clip from the episode shows Gansert’s character interacting with Nina, played by Cynthia Watros, as she talks to him about his work. According to Gansert, he managed to land the guest spot after he joked about wanting to appear on the show with one of the Bachelor producers. However, the producer worked his magic, and a couple of weeks after The Golden Bachelorette finale was filmed, Gansert received a Zoom invitation with General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini and Vice President, Production & Administration, ABC Daytime, Dominic Nuzzi.
The call went on for half an hour, during which Valentini and Nuzzi told Gansert that they loved the idea of having a real ER doctor-turned-reality-star on the show. “A month later, I received an offer to be on a small one-day episode,” concluded Gansert. The Golden Bachelor finalist shared that being on the General Hospital set was “surreal” and added that the producers, directors, and actors were extremely welcoming and supportive.
