Golden Bachelorette’s Joan Vassos on the Reality of a Golden Bachelor in Paradise

As The Golden Bachelorette star Joan Vassos settles into her new life with fiancé Chock Chapple, fans are eagerly speculating about the possibility of a Golden Bachelor in Paradise spinoff. But Joan, who found her second chance at love on the show, isn’t so sure about how well a “Golden” version of Bachelor in Paradise would work.

Joan has become a bit of a matchmaker herself, helping some of her fellow contestants find love since the show ended. She’s even attempted to set up Leslie Fhima with Jordan Heller, among others, though she has kept some names under wraps. But when it comes to the idea of a Golden Bachelor in Paradise, Joan shares some concerns.

Would There Be Enough Golden Contestants?

In a recent interview with Decider, Joan expressed her doubts about the viability of a Golden spinoff. While the Golden Bachelor and The Golden Bachelorette seasons captured fans’ hearts, Joan believes the pool of potential participants for Golden Bachelor in Paradise might be too small.

“I think at least five of them have girlfriends and are matched up,” she explained. “So, I think the pool of people ready to go on a Golden Bachelor in Paradise season may be smaller than what we were thinking.”

Joan’s point is valid—many of the men from The Golden Bachelorette have already found love after leaving the show. For example, fan favorite Mark Anderson is reportedly dating actress Barbara Alyn Woods from One Tree Hill, while Jonathan Rone is in a happy relationship with Michelle Zimmerman. Given that so many former contestants have already paired off, Joan suggests that there might not be enough singles left to fill a Golden Bachelor in Paradise cast.

Will Golden Relationships Last?

Another issue Joan raised was the potential for many of the relationships formed during The Golden Bachelor and The Golden Bachelorette to fizzle out. While some couples may thrive, others might find their romances short-lived, and that uncertainty could affect the success of a Golden Bachelor in Paradise season.

Joan is uncertain about whether the remaining singles from The Golden Bachelorette would be ready to jump into another dating competition, especially if they’re still navigating their current relationships or emotional baggage.

Golden Men Still Searching for Love

Although several contestants from The Golden Bachelorette have already found love off-screen, some are still looking for that perfect match. Joan herself has been busy helping a few of them connect with potential partners. That said, it remains to be seen whether the men who are still searching for love would be interested in participating in a Golden Bachelor in Paradise style show.

It hasn’t yet been confirmed if a Golden Bachelor in Paradise will even happen. However, host Jesse Palmer has expressed interest in finding ways to incorporate the Golden cast into future seasons of the Bachelor in Paradise franchise, possibly even featuring some Golden contestants in a regular BIP season.

Will Golden Bachelor in Paradise Happen?

While Joan’s concerns about the Golden Bachelor in Paradise are valid, fans are still hopeful that there’s potential for it to work. Whether the show includes Golden contestants in the regular Bachelor in Paradise format or creates a spinoff, there’s no denying the appeal of seeing older contestants finding love in a more relaxed, tropical setting.

For now, it seems the idea of a Golden Bachelor in Paradise remains in the air, and fans will have to wait to see if it becomes a reality—or if Joan’s reservations prove to be right.
