Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple have been engaged for more than six months now, but they’re still learning new things about each other. Most recently, Vassos was given an insight into something that she never knew about Chapple while the two were on their first vacation together.
The Golden Bachelorette couple spent a few days in Cancún, Mexico, this month, and a parasailing excursion unlocked the secret that Chapple was keeping from his fiancée.
“This is kind of new. This is cool,” he said in an Instagram video from the outing. “Are you afraid of heights?” Vassos asked him after sensing his apprehension. Chapple admitted, “A little bit.” The mom of four was shocked by this confession. “You never told me you were afraid of heights!” she pointed out, to which Chapple responded, “I didn’t want to tell you.”
It’s been a very busy few months since Chapple and Vassos were able to go public with their relationship following the Golden Bachelorette finale in November. The holidays crept up quickly once the show ended, and the new year brought a lot of work obligations for the pair. Although they were able to sneak away to New York City for a few trips, the getaway to Mexico was their first real vacation as a couple.
Now, they’re focused on finding an apartment together in the Big Apple, and are admittedly not prioritizing wedding planning just yet. “What I want right now is to just be a couple,” Vassos recently said on the Rogue Energy podcast. “We have only been out in public for less than three months, so we’re still doing stuff that, like, beginning couples are doing. [Like] introducing each other to our friends. He only knows a few of my friends.”
Still, the two have made it clear that they plan on spending the rest of their lives together and have promised that a wedding will happen one day.
