Bachelor Nation fans have heard a lot about the living conditions in the famous mansion the ABC show films at. Now the men of The Golden Bachelorette dish on what it is like living in the Bachelor mansion at an older age. Keep reading for all the details.
When Did Senior Spinoff Film?
The first-ever season of The Golden Bachelorette premieres in mid-September. Joan Vassos was announced as the lead in May 2024. She was a contestant on Gerry Turner’s season of the Golden Bachelor but had to leave early for a family matter. The network went ahead with the planned female-led spinoff despite Gerry’s marriage to Theresa Nist turning into a public relations nightmare when they divorced.
Joan left for filming in June. Filming has since completed, but viewers will have to tune in to find out if she found love again after losing her husband to cancer in 2021.
Golden Bachelorette Men Dish On Living In Famous Mansion
Entertainment Tonight caught up with Joan and some of her suitors at the Avalon Hollywood nightclub during filming. The outlet interviewed the men, but kept their names out of the article so not to spoil anything.
Bachelor Nation fans have heard about the cramped living quarters at the California mansion where the show usually films. ABC used a different mansion for Jenn Tran’s season of The Bachelorette, but returned to the other mansion for Joan’s season.
ET confirmed that the sleeping accommodations once again include bunk beds for the men. The close quarters took one suitor back to his college days. He compared it to a frat house, adding
“I haven’t slept in a room with other men since college. Guys that snore, guys that do other bodily functions while they sleep.”
One of the 24 contestants did luck out by nabbing a twin bed to sleep in, but even that was uncomfortable. “They are so freaking small. My feet are hanging off,” he griped.
Producers Call Out The Men For Bad Habits
A producer with the show confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that sleeping in the Bachelor mansion with a bunch of other men was anything but relaxing.
Bennett Graebner has been an executive producer with the franchise since it began in 2002. He called the Golden Bachelor suitors out for their bad habits.
“The struggle with the snoring is next level.”
