The couple can’t decide where they should move
Gerry, 72, and Theresa, 70, got married in January after she won his heart during the first season of The Golden Bachelor.
On Monday, she was seen leaving her financial firm office where she works as a compliance officer.
On this day, she was wearing a tan trench coat that was pulled tightly around her torso to keep her warm.
Her light grey cropped pants featured a black plaid pattern, and he rocked a pair of black studded heels.
She was carrying a brown reusable tote bag from Trader Joe’s and her cell phone.
Her main accessory was her wedding ring which she wore proudly although she looked upset in the pictures.
Theresa lives in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, but her new husband is still stationed in Northern Indiana at his lakefront home.
As they consider where they want their permanent home to be, they are still about 700 miles apart.
Despite the difficulty in a long-distance marriage, there are several reasons why they’re continuing to live separately, according to TMZ.
A source claimed that moving would be too difficult because they already have their separate lives.
Picking up and moving everything into one home in a different location would be “time-consuming,” according to the source.
Plus, the couple lives close to their respective families, and moving in together would take them away from their loved ones.
However, eventually, they would like to move in together – possibly in Charleston, South Carolina.
That area would be an optimal middle ground, and Theresa’s son and grandchildren live there.
Although their physical relationship has some major barriers, their emotional connection is still intact.
“They’re still madly in love and want to make the marriage work,” a source told TMZ.
The happy couple has taken the time to visit each other several times since they tied the knot.
They make it a priority to spend time together to close the distance.
Gerry has already traveled to the East Coast several times, and Theresa plans to visit Indiana in May as they decide what to do on a more permanent basis.
Most recently, the couple was seen together in the middle of March to support Gerry’s granddaughter Charlee at her volleyball game.
He was also able to see his daughter, Angie, while on the trip.
