Golden Bachelor reject April insists she ‘truly tried to warn’ Theresa about Gerry

April Kirkwood, who was a fan-favorite on The Golden Bachelor, claimed that she ‘tried to warn’ Theresa Nist about Gerry Turner before the two got married

The Golden Bachelor alum April Kirkwood claims she attempted to warn Theresa Nist about her marriage to Gerry Turner.

The divorce of the first ever Golden Couple, which was announced on Good Morning America last week, continues to stir emotions within Bachelor Nation.

Adding fuel to the fire, a remark from another Golden Bachelor contestant has fans buzzing even more.

April a fan favorite from the show, spoke out about Theresa, alleging she “warned” her.

“To everyone who has expressed love, support and kindness to me I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are all such wonderful human beings,” Theresa wrote in her Monday post.

She added, “It means the world to me that you took the time to reach out to me, whether in person, on the phone, by text or by direct message. You are all so kind to do so,” concluding her heartfelt message.

April then chimed in with her own comment on Theresa’s post, which some interpreted as having a double meaning.

“I wish you the very best,” April commented. “I truly tried to tell you, but this was your lesson to experience. Much love! “.

The former contestant then doubled down on her comment when a fan questioned her intentions.

Her previous statement sparked a flurry of reactions from fans, with comedian David Neal chiming in to say: “Nows not the time April, yikes.”

“I care for all women in the world. I want us all to learn from each other and be smart and empowered,” April responded to the questioning fan.

“Lessons offer us the opportunity. We’ve all had our hearts broken … what we do with it is entirely up to us! Let’s rock this world Ladies. Therese can lead the way!”.

However, on Tuesday, April retracted her previous comments and issued a public apology.

“I wish all women only peace and power to be their best selves. This was not the one for me. Much love and gratitude for understanding.”

Her apology drew further backlash, but The Golden Bachelor runner-up Leslie Fhima offered words of support for April.

“I love you my friend. I’m so happy to call you that,” she asserted. “You’re beautiful inside and out.”
