Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner is showing a frugal side to his marriage to Theresa Nist.
The Golden Bachelor: Gerry and Theresa on where they’ll live
Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner was described as a frugal man before he met Theresa Nist – and it appears to still be the truth now that he is married and living in New Jersey with his wife.
In November, an ex-girlfirend urged Theresa to sign a prenup after her financial status was hinted at on the show.
She also claimed he was exceptionally frugal and liked to share monthly expenses with his partners.
Though he did have a lavish wedding with Theresa, it was paid for by ABC, and since moving to New Jersey, Gerry has seemingly settled in to his wife’s Shrewsbury home.
Now, it seems that has extended to the couple’s grocery shopping habits.
Gerry took to Instagram to share that General Mills had sent the couple personalized boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios cereal to them as a gift, but the comments revealed that he had recently been looking for a bargain as he did some shopping.
“You met my grandma in Aldi today! She said you were a sweetheart!” a fan wrote.
Gerry then replied to the fan, inquiring if her grandmother had pointed him towards an unexpected purchase.
“Is she the wonderful woman who turned me on to the Creme Brulee?” he asked.
The fan later confirmed that her grandmother was that same person.
Gerry shopping at Aldi though could be a sign that despite he and Theresa both having impressive net worths, saving money is still the way he plans to live his life.
Aldi, a grocery store which started in Europe before coming to the United States, is known for its lower prices on grocery items, including produce, meat, dairy, frozen and other pantry staples, as well as a selection of home goods.
“We pride ourselves on offering great quality food at the lowest price,” the company’s website reads.
