Since the show’s lineup is so large, I wasn’t shocked when Ghosts season 4’s fun new spirit Chris only lasted one episode before he moved on from the Woodstone Mansion. The sitcom doesn’t have sufficient screen time to explore more characters when the current cast already have to wait a few episodes to get a look in. Even then, many subplots are often dropped for weeks at a time. Perhaps the most egregious instance of this in Ghosts season 4 comes courtesy of Sass.
Ghosts Season 4 Has Made Sass’ Lack Of Love Life A Recurring Joke
Ghosts Season 4 Episode 16 Brought Up Sass’s Lack of Romantic Experience (Again)
Sass’s promising plot from the first half of the season still hasn’t resurfaced despite a running gag about his personal history. In season 4, episode 5, “A Star Is Dead,” Sass tried to date Marisa, an actor from a local drama group, when she appeared in Jay’s dreams. Initially, this seemed to work, but Sass soon realized that the version of Marisa he was speaking to was actually just part of Jay’s mind. This meant he was technically trying to date Jay, sending the lovelorn ghost back to the proverbial drawing board.
Pete promised to finally use his powers to help others by finding Sass a love interest.

Pete Can Redeem Himself By Finding Sass A Love Interest
To make matters worse, Pete did travel all the way to Norway to learn what happened to Thor’s shipmates but never stood by his promise to Sass. I can’t stand when sitcoms revert to the status quo with each new episode, forgetting the plot of the previous outing in the process, so I was initially glad to see Ghosts season 4 avoid this sitcom problem. However, while the events of episode 13, “Ghostfellas,” led directly into episode 14, “Alexander Hamilton and the Ruffle Kerfuffle,” Pete’s promise to Sass was seemingly forgotten after the episode ended.
