The ink on Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s divorce is barely dry. Still, it looks like The Golden Bachelor star is already considering what his future will look like. Gerry Turner recently revealed that he isn’t dating just yet but has plenty of prospects. While he isn’t ready to reenter the dating market, he’s been thinking about what he’ll be looking for when he decides to find his next great love.
Gerry Turner knows what he wants when he starts dating again
Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist finalized their divorce recently. The former love birds are now free to do as they wish. TMZ caught up with Gerry Turner, and he revealed that he has plenty of dating options. The septuagenarian told the publication that he’s not ready to start dating yet but that women are constantly shooting their shot, both in person and on social media. While he hasn’t taken anyone up on their offer, he’s already thinking about his future dating life.
Turner told TMZ he knows what he wants in his next special someone. He told the publication that he hopes to find a woman who has a sense of adventure and can be “on the move.” Turner had a few more requirements. Namely, he is hoping to find a woman who lives closer to his Indiana home base than his now ex-wife, Teresa Nist. Nist was from New Jersey, and the distance was a major factor in the end of their short-lived marriage.
While Turner and Nist insisted they ended things on good terms, there might be a bit of bad blood now that the divorce is official. The Golden Bachelor fans couldn’t help but notice that Turner’s relationship requirements sound like a bit of a dig at Nist.
Why did Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist get divorced?
Gerry Turner’s desire for a future partner appears to align with what he said was wrong in his marriage to Nist when the duo announced their divorce in April. Both Nist and Turner said that their inability to find a place to call home together ultimately led to the deterioration of their union. There was far more to it, though, argued viewers.
Distance might have been a factor, but careers and aspirations also played a role. If you look at their pre-divorce media appearances, it is obvious that Turner was feeling put out by Nist’s inability to travel on a whim. Nist is still currently working. She is not free to be “on the move” like Turner wants. He addressed growing resentment over her career in a podcast appearance weeks before the split.
