Um, hi, it’s me again reporting on the latest about The Golden Bachelor, and there could *possibly* be a spin-off of the latest series in the Bachelor franchise. At least, Gerry Turner is holding out hope that The Golden Bachelorette could be a real thing—I mean, The Bachelor spawned The Bachelorette and the rest was history, so why not? Right?
In conversation with E! News, Gerry revealed that any of the ladies featured on the inaugural season of The Golden Bachelor would be a great fit for a potential spin-off.
“I absolutely do hope that is something that happens,” he told the outlet. “But there’s no way I could recommend one out of those 22 women that would be better than any of the others. They’d all be wonderful candidates for it.”
Not only does The Golden Bachelorette have Gerry’s stamp of approval, but host Jesse Palmer and producers also think the franchise could expand.
“People are really liking the stories that we’re telling, and so I’m really interested to see. It will be different; it will be almost like doing it for the first time all over again with The Golden Bachelorette,” producer Jason Ehrlich told The Hollywood Reporter in November 2023. “What is it going to be like with 20-some older men living in the Bachelor Mansion? We don’t know, but I’m pretty sure it will be different and interesting. And that’s what makes me want to watch.”
During an interview with E! News, Jesse added, “I can’t speak on behalf of executives or anybody else, obviously. I’m sure everyone’s waiting to see how [The Golden Bachelor] goes first,” he said in October 2023. “But I know there are thousands of women across America deserving of that.”
One of Gerry’s finalists, Faith Martin, also expressed that she’d be open to taking the title when the time comes.
“I would love to find out more about it,” she told E! News in November 2023. “I mean, to have 25 men to choose from? I would have to say yes, I think.” Saaame, Faith.
Another one of Gerry’s contestants, Ellen Goltzer, added, “Regardless of who it is, it means that the public wants more, and that to me is very flattering in itself.”
Fan-fave Kathy Swarts also thinks a spin-off could be successful, and she let it be known in the ~realest~ way that the chances of her taking the title are unlikely.
“I don’t think they could find 22 guys who could keep up with me, so there’s that,” Kathy said. “But who wouldn’t want to be? I mean, the chance to find love, the chance to meet great people. Who wouldn’t want that?”
