A Young Sheldon season 7 set video reveals the first look at Georgie (Montana Jordan) potentially during George’s (Lance Barber) funeral.
Georgie’s get-up for George’s potential funeral may have been revealed in a Young Sheldon season 7 video. The Coopers’ firstborn has gone through lots of changes in recent years, with the arrival of Baby Cece forcing him to grow up quickly. Now that he is married to Mandy, he has his own family to take care of. However, he is still part of Georgie and Mary’s clan, which means that his dad’s death will be a major part of his personal arc in the sitcom.
Courtesy of Raegan Revord on TikTok, a video features Montana Jordan as Georgie dressed formally for what could be Young Sheldon season 7’s funeral for George. Watch the video below:
The video is of Jordan and Revord goofing on set, and it seems to have been taken during the time that the cast of Young Sheldon seemingly filmed George’s funeral. Jordan is wearing black pants and a shirt with a tie. He is also sporting his new wedding band from recently tying the knot with Mandy.
How George’s Young Sheldon Death Impacts Georgie’s Life
The Young Sheldon Spinoff Could Explore Georgie Coping With His Father’s Death
Young Sheldon only has a handful of episodes left, and George’s death may not go down until its final few episodes.
While not much was revealed about Georgie’s life in The Big Bang Theory, some pertinent information about what lies ahead for him was established in the nerd-centric sitcom, including how he becomes a successful business owner. Season 7 revisiting Georgie’s tire capabilities sets up his entrepreneurial success, which will likely be further explored in his upcoming Young Sheldon spinoff with Mandy. This arc will simultaneously go down with him taking over after George’s death. As he told his brother, Georgie needed to become the man of the house when they lost George because Mary was too grief-stricken.
How the writers are planning to show this is currently unclear. Young Sheldon only has a handful of episodes left, and George’s death may not happen until its final few episodes. While this arc can be tackled in Georgie and Mandy’s sequel show, none of the remaining Texas-based Coopers will be series regulars in the new project. Therefore, it would be nearly impossible for the next CBS endeavor to highlight this particular part of Georgie’s life. Instead, it will mostly focus on him taking care of Mandy and Baby Cece.
Per The Big Bang Theory canon, Georgie and Mandy will eventually split up. It’s still uncertain when and how, but Georgie’s increased responsibility to his first family after George’s death may play a part in this. For now, Young Sheldon is focused on wrapping up the show. Whether the expansion project devotes time to this specific plot will be determined once the funeral is finally on the air.
When George May Die In Young Sheldon
Young Sheldon Is Running Out Of Time To Portray George’s Death
Due to the nature of George’s death, Young Sheldon can get away with not setting it up. There have been theories about the cause of the Cooper patriarch’s demise, including a possible heart attack, which wouldn’t be surprising considering his established health issues. Still, it isn’t outside the realm of possibility that the writers are looking to pull a plot twist when it comes to arguably the biggest Cooper tragedy. George’s upcoming vasectomy could pave the way for his death.
Regardless of how he dies, the more pressing question is when he will pass away. Ideally, Young Sheldon would be able to have George until the very end of the series. That being said, the possible funeral scene suggests that his demise will happen just before the special one-hour Cooper send-off on May 16. This way, the Young Sheldon finale can focus on transitioning Sheldon’s life from Texas to California while ensuring that Georgie and Mandy’s spinoff is properly set up. It’s also integral that the prequel leaves Missy, Mary, and Meemaw with definitive endings.
What To Expect From Georgie And Mandy’s Young Sheldon Spinoff
Georgie And Mandy Will Keep The Big Bang Theory Universe Going
Young Sheldon bringing back Georgie’s dropped tire plot is part of the writers’ efforts to lay the groundwork for his and Mandy’s spinoff. Established as early as season 2, George and Mary’s firstborn has a special talent for repairing tires, and with Mandy’s family owning a shop, this will be Georgie’s official introduction to the industry. It’s currently unclear if Jim and Audrey will be series regulars in the Young Sheldon sequel show. After the plumbing issues at the Coopers, where they had been living since the Medford tornado in the season 6 finale, the newlyweds moved into the McAllisters.
Another plot that can be expected in Mandy and Georgie’s Young Sheldon spinoff is the former’s attempt to get back into the workforce. Mandy previously attempted to reclaim her title as a weather girl not long after giving birth, and Georgie wasn’t exactly thrilled about it, forcing Meemaw to intervene. With Baby Cece a bit older and Mandy more settled into her role as a mother, she has made it clear that she is interested in finding a job.
