While The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon continue to draw steady viewership on traditional platforms, it’s Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage — the CBS spin-off following Sheldon’s older brother — that’s now stealing the show. Lord knows what spin-off we’ll get next. The series has quietly overtaken both of its predecessors on HBO Max, where all three titles currently rank among the streamer’s Top 10 most-watched shows. (Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage sits at #7 as of mid-October 2025.)
Now in its second season, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage follows Georgie Cooper (Montana Jordan) and Mandy McAllister (Emily Osment) as they navigate young parenthood, small business ownership, and the bumpy reality of, well, a first marriage. Fans of The Big Bang Theory already know how Georgie’s story ends — this isn’t his last marriage — but the fun comes from watching how he and Mandy try (and fail, and try again) to make it work.
The show has found critical and commercial success, boasting an 89% Rotten Tomatoes score and a strong second-season premiere titled “A Tie Breaker and a Huge Mistake.” The episode caught viewers up on life in Medford, Texas, where Georgie now co-owns McAllister Auto and Tires after buying the business from his father-in-law, Jim McAllister(Will Sasso).
Is ‘Georgie and Mandy’ Worth Watching?
Collider’s review of the series noted that “it was important to acknowledge that both Georgie and Jim are entering new chapters of their lives, and each was faced with self-doubt about whether they made the right decisions for themselves.” The show will also need to do its best to see how to fit in Ruben (Jessie Prez), now an operating co-owner, with more screen time, as he’s the last character left on the show for Georgie to win over.
