Even showing more sympathy than any other time Audrey tried to console Mandy, Audrey got Mandy a new outfit and listened to her fears about not being good enough to be a weather girl again. Unlike what happened during other bonding moments, Audrey didn’t judge Mandy’s outfit choice or her fears and supported her daughter through her worries, effectively giving her the push Mandy needed to regain her confidence in First Marriage.

Audrey’s support for Mandy extended even beyond their interactions, with Audrey effectively relating to Jim her wish to move with Mandy and Georgie were Mandy to get a job offer in Dallas or Houston, showing her wish to support her daughter’s career while also remaining close to CeeCee. This kind of support is particularly meaningful coming from Audrey, who refused to support Mandy during her pregnancy because Mandy and Georgie weren’t married, and couldn’t wait to comment on Georgie’s blunders at the worst possible moments in Young Sheldon, making First Marriage finally show how much Audrey actually cared for Mandy.
