There was a lot of mystery, drama, and courtroom chaos that brought a new little one to Port Charles last week on General Hospital. With a new character on the show, comes a new name, but this name came out of left field.
Oopsie Daisy
After the courtroom birth, Michael (Rory Gibson) and Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) introduced the world to their new baby girl, Daisy. Certainly not a name we’ve heard in Port Charles before, we can’t help but think there were better choices.
They could’ve went with an obvious choice, like Bobbie, after the late Jackie Zeman’s character. They could have honored her late brother Liam with a name like Lea or Lily. But the best contender to name Baby Girl Corbin would have honored both a character and an actor gone too soon. Even Sam, after Kelly Monaco’s character whom Michael loved, would have been a sweet tribute to a beloved character.
But naming her Brandy, after Brando, would have given Sasha a sense of peace, while also honoring Brando’s portrayer Johnny Wactor, who was murdered last year.
It wouldn’t have been the first time GH named a character after a lost co-worker. In 2019 when Donna (Scarlett Spears) was born, her name honored GH’s beloved makeup artist Donna Messina, who passed away in 2018.Do you like the name Daisy, and do you think we’ll get any backstory on it?
