General Hospital stars Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson are getting fans hyped for what’s coming up on the show amid some casting changes. Two major casting shockers dropped this week.
First up, Jonathan Jackson is out as Lucky. Nine months after his highly anticipated return, the actor has wrapped his run. Meanwhile,Kelly Thiebaud is back filmingGeneral Hospital, a little over two years after Britt died on the show.
Bradford and Burton are here to let fans know that there’s so much happening on GH and it’s all good. On their podcast, That’s Awesome, the two pals joked about not having scenes together anymore when their talk turned to various storylines.
A lot is going down in Port Charles. Michael’s (Rory Gibson) return and the revelation that Gio (Giovanni Mazza) is really Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) son are at the top of the list.
However, that’s just the tip of the iceberg, according to Burton and Bradford.
“Things are heating up. There’s a lot of stories. A lot of stories, actual stories that are happening. Some are coming to an end. Some are just starting. So we’re kind of in this cool flow of on the upswing,” Burton shared. “It doesn’t feel like there’s one huge A story and it’s trickling down.
He explained that many times, there are A storylines with B and C sub-stories to round out the show. That doesn’t seem to be the case right now on General Hospital; as Burton spilled, all storylines seem to be A.
“It feels like there are good stories in different families, in different storylines that are crossing a little bit, but you’re not just cutting away to a B or C story,” Burton stated.
The guys referred to what’s being told now as “real stories,” and it’s because of the head writer’s change. Burton feels that those writers have found their “footing” and things are changing.
Bradford further added that what’s being filmed now on General Hospital and what aired the past couple of weeks is a turn for the show.
“It’s a beat change,” Bradford said before telling fans to “enjoy the ride, friends.”
The men agreed that things are definitely picking up in Port Charles. Adding the summer season in to the mix will only make things hotter on the ABC soap.
Make sure to keep turning into General Hospital to see what Burton and Bradford are talking about.
General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
