The fallout from the GH Nurses’ Ball did not disappoint, with the highly-awaited Tuesday May 27 episode of General Hospital.
Top among the moments: the mother/daughter showdown between Lois (Rena Sofer) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton), now that Brook Lynn knows that Gio (Giovanni Mazza) is her biological son with Dante (Dominic Zamprogna). Brook Lynn is blindsided when all along she thought she gave her baby up in a closed adoption as a teenager with the help of her mother.
However, Lois secretly gave the baby to her cousin, Camilla, who wanted a child of her own and things would have been OK (according to Lois) if Camilla hadn’t died. Now, with Gio’s reveal on the Nurses’ Ball stage, Brook Lynn demands answers from Lois, who finally admits that Gio is her son. Lois says she was trying to do the right thing, when Dante interrupts the conversation.
Brook Lynn deeply apologizes to Dante saying – she couldn’t bring herself to tell him she was pregnant with his child – and admits she was scared of having the baby and so she gave the baby up for adoption. She swears that she never knew that Gio was their son until tonight. The look on Dante’s face is heartbreaking for Brook Lynn, and she tells him that it was that look she has been dreading seeing for the past 20 years. Dante says they have to be a united front and help Gio.
At the same time, Emma (Braedyn Bruner) finds Gio with his bag and ready to leave the Q’s. She tells him she is coming with him, but just as they are about to leave, Tracy (Jane Elliot) comes barreling through the front door and going on about how she was arrested, and then realizes something terrible has happened from the look on Gio’s face.Gio tells Tracy that unfortunately for her they are family after all, and informs Tracy that Brook Lynn and Dante are his parents which makes her his great grandmother. Tracy wants details, but Gio tells her to talk to Lois. Next, Tracy stops Gio and Emma from leaving and says he’s her family now. She says everything in this house is his and everyone is related to him, and as he cries, Tracy tells him not to push them away. In a touching moment, Tracy shows Gio a photo of his great grandparents Edward and Lila Quartermaine.

Back at the Metro Court pool area, Brook Lynn gets a text from Tracy that Gio is at the Q’s. As she and Dante get set to leave to be with Gio, Lois starts to come with and Brook Lynn loses it on her mother and tells her she wants her nowhere near Gio, or her, ever again. Brook Lynn says she agreed to a closed adoption so they wouldn’t know where the baby was, and yet Lois changed the plan without telling her. She tells her mother that in no uncertain terms, what she did was unforgivable!
Now crying alone near the pool, Lois is next confronted by Ned (Wally Kurth), who is visibly upset and angered at his ex-wife, and how she could do this to their daughter. We have yet to see the scene between Lois and Ned, which should air on the Wednesday, May 28th episode of GH.
If all of that wasn’t enough, Michael (Rory Gibson) takes Wiley (Viron Weaver) from the ballroom and heads out. Jason (Steve Burton) prevents Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) from following Michael. Just then, Willow gets a call from the nanny, and learns from Jason that he took Amelia to Carly’s which is where Michael is headed with Wiley. A furious Willow wants her children back.
Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) is babysitting Amelia when Michael and Wiley show up and for the first time in months a very pregnant Sasha greets Michael. Later, Michael tucks Wiley into bed and talks how he missed his children and no ocean could keep them all apart. We next learn that Sasha has been sending Michael sonograms of their child. He tells her to not worry, he remembers their arrangement that she didn’t want Michael to be any part of the baby’s life, but he also told her, if she should change her mind, he is right here.
Lulu (Amanda Setton) and Cody (Josh Kelly) commiserate over beers for ruining Dante, Brook Lynn and Gio’s life. Lulu still believes this will be a good thing in time, while Cody thinks they just blew everyone’s life up sky high!
Back at the Q’s, an emotional Gio tells Tracy he has a family and he just lost a mother he loved very much. He thinks everyone of the Quartermaines is a bunch of liar and he won’t jump on the family bandwagon. Just then, Brook Lynn and Dante show up for the first time as mother and father to their son. We fade to black.
So, what did you think of Brook Lynn laying the smackdown on Lois? What are your thoughts on nuMichael in his brief scenes with Sasha and Wiley? Is it time for Lulu to get what’s coming to her for instigating the entire fallout of Gio’s paternity? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
