From SVU to FBI: Law & Order Star Takes On Major Role in Season 8 Shake-Up

One of CBS’s top police procedurals will be returning with a new season this fall. FBI season 8 will premiere on CBS on Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, at 9/8c. You can expect a new episode to air every Monday. Now, we’ve just learned of a new cast addition for the eighth season, and fans of the Law & Order universe will most likely recognize this talented actress right away.

It’s none other than Juliana Aidén Martinez, who is known for previously portraying Junior Detective Kate Silva in Law & Order: SVU. Back in May 2025, Martinez departed the long-running NBC drama after just one season, and now she’s making the jump to CBS to take on a major role in FBI season 8.

Her new role is currently under wraps, but it’s speculated that she could be the new partner for FBI agent Stuart Scola (John Boyd), who’s been without a permanent partner since Tiffany Wallace (Katherine Renee Kane) left in the season 7 premiere.

Previous attempts to pair Scola with a new character were temporary or short-lived. For example, Lisette Olivera’s Syd Ortiz was introduced as Scola’s partner last season but left after just a few episodes. Following her departure, Emily Alabi joined as Dani Rhodes, a recurring character who temporarily filled the role. According to Deadline, Alabi is set to return this fall to conclude Dani’s storyline.

Martinez is joining a series regular cast that already includes Boyd, Missy Peregrym, Zeeko Zaki, Jeremy Sisto, and Alana de la Garza. While plot details for FBI season 8 are being kept secret at the moment, it’s expected that the new installment will pick up after that shocking season 7 finale cliffhanger, which saw Agent Castille collapsing and going unconscious outside the FBI office. Her fate was left up in the air at the end of the season. Season 8 should provide answers about her condition and reveal her fate.

Besides Law & Order: SVU, you might have watched Martinez in the Netflix miniseries Griselda, where she played the role of June. She also had a minor role in an episode of 911 season 7, portraying the character Fernanda.

October is still far off from now, so we recommend rewatching or catching up on the latest season of FBI. That way, you’ll be fully up to speed when season 8 premieres in the fall. As new information about FBI season 8 comes out, we’ll be sure to return and share everything we know. But for now, you must stay tuned to GeekSided.
