The indie film Do No Harm has just released its first trailer, starring Harry Shum Jr. – the star of Grey’s Anatomy, Glee, Everything Everywhere All At Once and Crazy Rich Asians. In the film, Shum Jr. plays a dedicated nurse who falls into crisis after a serious mistake at work.
Do No Harm will officially premiere tomorrow night at the TCL Chinese Theatres in Los Angeles, as the opening film of the Dances With Films Film Festival.
The film is written and directed by Chris Hartwell, with a cast including Rosaline Elbay (The Diplomat), Ronny Chieng (M3GAN), and Jimmy Gonzales (The Odyssey).
The film revolves around Sam Yeong (Harry Shum Jr.), a brilliant home health nurse who is exhausted by the pressures of her job. After making a seemingly simple mistake that leads to the death of a patient, Sam tries to bury the truth behind a facade of perfection. The story deeply depicts the stress and pressure of the American healthcare system and the consequences for both caregivers and patients.
The film is produced by Christian Sosa (Roosevelt Film Lab), with producers Joshua Sikora, Micah Sudduth, and executive producers Harry Shum Jr., Jon Wroblewski, Joseph Kawaja, and Jason Melton.
Do No Harm promises to be a deep, emotional psychological film that reflects the reality of today’s healthcare system – where even the smallest mistake can lead to irreversible consequences.
