Fran Drescher’s “Little Rotation”: Inside Her Modern Love Life & Enduring Bond with Gay Ex-Husband Peter Marc Jacobson

The actor, writer and producer, who made his screen debut in 1979, has been involved in 2 other shows with his ex-wife, Happily Divorced and The Fran Drescher Show

Hollywood legend Fran Drescher may be in her sixties, but she’s leading as colourful a life as ever. The Nanny actress attended the New York premiere of Naomi Watts and Bill Murray’s The Friend recently and spilled the beans about the friends – with benefits – in her life. Speaking to Page Six, she revealed, “I have a little rotation,” and when some pearls were clutched by the interviewer she quipped with disarming confidence, “I’m Fran Drescher! What do you think?”

However, the Emmy-nominated actress, 67, did not leave without an explanation. Citing her closeness to her ex-husband, Drescher shared that the only kind of relationship she can be involved in is “friends with benefits”. She had previously opened up about having one such partner in 2020, but the number has apparently grown since.

Meanwhile, ex Peter Marc Jacobson has been making more public appearances with Drescher. He was at the premiere of The Friend with her and joined her for the New York screening of Seth Rogen’s The Studio at the Museum of Modern Art a few days later. They were also spotted at the 2025 SAG Awards in Los Angeles in February.

So who is Peter Marc Jacobson?

Per Jacobson’s IMDb page, the Queens, New York native, also 67, made his acting debut in a 1979 episode of Wonder Woman. He appeared in works such as Dynasty and Generations before co-creating, co-producing and briefly starring in sitcom The Nanny with Drescher. Their life together inspired the Drescher-led series Happily Divorced, which she co-created with Jacobson, per CBS News. He then collaborated with her again as the executive producer of The Fran Drescher Show. Jacobson’s other work includes writing and co-executive producing Amanda Bynes’ sitcom What I Like About You and Katharine McPhee’s Country Comfort.

Per People, Jacobson admitted to being bisexual to Drescher in the early years of their marriage. Two years after their divorce, he came out to her as homosexual. However, that wasn’t made public, by Drescher, until 2010. At the time, the Doctor Detroit actress told InTouch she was “the best of friends” with her ex. And while speaking at the Stonewall Community Foundation’s Vision Awards in 2015, she maintained that they “actually did have sex a lot” while married.
