First Look at Tracker Season 2 Released by CBS

First Look at Tracker Season 2 Released by CBS

As Tracker prepares to return for Season 2 this fall, the show has shared a few first-look images ahead of the premiere, giving fans a glimpse at the characters. The hit drama, starring Justin Hartley as Colter Shaw, has become one of the most anticipated shows of the year, especially after the first season promised to give us such a welcome old-school TV experience. Check out the new images from Tracker Season 2 below.
The new images released by CBS depict various characters from the second season, including Colter Shaw, who appears to be busy tracking down new clues in the escalating cases. Other characters featured in the image include Abby McEnany’s Velma Bruin and Fiona Rene’s Reenie Greene, both holding cell phones, most likely hinting at an important conversation on both ends.

The first images are notably missing the presence of Robin Weigert, who played Teddi Bruin, Abby’s wife in the first season of Tracker. The reason for this is because the CBS series suffered a major setback after Season 1, with the departure of one of the show’s regular cast members, Weigert, who will not be reprising her role. This has undoubtedly caused many fans to start, given her pivotal role as Shaw’s handler in Season 1. Robin Weigert’s absence will be felt throughout the next season, as her acting talent is something that Tracker fans will not forget. Neither CBS nor 20th Television have explained why Weigert is leaving the series, but on the bright side, Jensen Ackles has been confirmed to return for the second episode of Tracker Season 2. While we have yet to see an official trailer for Tracker Season 2, CBS has released the official description for the first episode of the next season, “Out of the Past.” While it doesn’t necessarily provide a clear indication of where the entire next season will take us, knowing Colter Shaw’s latest mystery is more than enough for now.

“While investigating the strange disappearance of a missing family whose car is found abandoned on the side of a road in the Arkansas backwoods, Colter makes a shocking discovery about his mother’s past that leads him into the world of organized crime. Additionally, Reenie opens her new law firm and enlists Velma’s help in setting it up.”

As previously stated, Jensen Ackles’ Russell Shaw will appear in the second episode, but depending on his role in the story, he could be around for the entire season. Perhaps we’ll be one step closer to solving the mystery of Ashton Shaw’s death, especially after Russell and Colter reconciled in the first season. Tracker, created by Ben H. Winters, is based on the 2019 novel The Never Game by Jeffrey Deaver. The first season premiered on February 11, 2024, with episodes airing weekly through May. With the second season less than a month away, viewers are eager to see what the next mystery is.
