First Look At Emily Osment’s Return Revealed In Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage BTS Photos

Behind-the-scenes images from Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage reveal the first look at Emily Omsent back on the set. Young Sheldon may have ended, but the Coopers’ story in Texas will continue via the next expansion series from The Big Bang Theory universe. The new show will follow Georgie and Mandy as they navigate their life as newlyweds and young parents to Baby Cece. The McAllisters, Audrey and Jim, will be joining Montana Jordan and Osment as part of the show’s core cast, and there are continued hopes that Sheldon and the rest of the family will also make appearances.

On her official Instagram account, Osment shares images of herself back on the set as Mandy in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. Check out the photos below:

In the first image, Osment takes a selfie as she tries on Mandy’s new wardrobe for the Young Sheldon sequel show. The second photo, on the other hand, shows the front door of her dressing room, labeled “Mandy.”

How Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Continues Young Sheldon’s Story

The Young Sheldon Spinoff Will Be More Like The Big Bang Theory

Picking up just a couple of months after the death of George in Young Sheldon, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is technically a follow-up to its parent show. Aside from its familiar headliners, many of the producers and writers from the old show are also coming back. That being said, there are some differences between Young Sheldon and its sequel series. For starters, the storytelling focus will shift from the Coopers to the McAllisters, which is proven by the involvement of Jim and Audrey — Mandy’s parents and owners of a tire shop.

Secondly, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage will also have a multi-cam format. This means that it will be filmed in front of a live audience and will have canned laughter, like The Big Bang Theory. For context, Young Sheldon had a single-cam set-up. This allowed the prequel to have more dramatic moments and tackle darker storylines that would be trickier to do in a different setting. Whether this is an indication that Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage will be more lighthearted than its predecessor is difficult to say, but the change is intentional to differentiate it from Young Sheldon.

Jim Parsons’ Sheldon Cooper won’t be in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage as a series regular, but luckily, he has the perfect replacement.

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage will take over Young Sheldon‘s usual Thursday spot, continuing The Big Bang Theory‘s trend. While the universe will continue, this marks the end of Sheldon’s 17-year trend on TV. Iain Armitage can still appear as a guest, but as far as the main narrative goes, it will really be about Georgie and Mandy’s new life.
