Fire Country’s Leading Man Opens Up About Training to Become the Next He-Man md11

In a new interview, Baccarin talks about Galitzine’s transformation into He-Man, which presumably did not require him to discover any fabulous secret powers: “It’s insane. I saw him on set and he’d been training for months and months and months, I was like, ‘Oh, my god, how did you do that?'” She was pleased with her own transformation into the avian Sorceress, as well, noting that “It was really cool once I got there and saw the costume and what they had in mind for me — the whole get-up and the wig and contacts and all of it.” The Sorceress, one of He-Man’s Eternian allies, is one of the few people who know his secret identity. She notes that the series was an important part of her childhood, as she was raised on the 1980s animated series: “I grew up watching He-Man, my brother and I.”

What Is ‘Masters of the Universe’ About?

Galitzine stars in the film as Prince Adam, the heir to the throne of the techno-fantasy planet Eternia, and his alter-ego, the superhuman barbarian He-Man. Aiding him in his war against evil are his allies Teela (Camila Mendes), Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba), the Sorceress (Baccarin), Roboto (Kristen Wiig), Fisto (Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson), and Ram-Man (Jon Xue Zhang). However, the throne of Eternia is coveted by the evil skull-faced warlock Skeletor (Jared Leto), and his coterie of evil warriors, including Evil-Lyn (Alison Brie), Trap-Jaw (Sam C. Wilson), Goat Man (Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson), and Tri-Klops (Kojo Attah). The film will also feature James Purefoy and Charlotte Riley as King Randor and Queen Marlena, Adam’s parents, and Sasheer Zamata as Suzie, his best friend from Earth.

In addition to Masters of the UniverseBaccarin is currently starring in the considerably more grounded Sheriff Country. A spin-off of Fire CountrySheriff Country centers around Mickey Fox (Baccarin), the sheriff of Edgewater County, as she deals with her ex-con father, her troubled daughter, and the crime of the week. The procedural series premiered last week on CBS.
