Anne V. Coates would have spiced it up a little!
Anne V. Coates would have spiced up Fifty Shades of Grey.
The 90-year-old legendary Lawrence of Arabia film editor, who worked on the movie adaption of the steamy S&M book, told The Hollywood Reporter they could have made Fifty Shades much sexier.
“It was kind of fun,” she said about working on the film. “I thought it could have been a little more raunchy myself.”
“Creatively, it was quite interesting because they were trying to get as sexy as they could and get an R rating,” Coates explained. “So we were very delicately going around some of the scenes.”
“I was surprised to be asked to do it, but I think it was because I did [Adrian Lyne’s] Unfaithful, which was fairly sexy,” she continued.
Perhaps Fifty Shades Darker, the sequel due out next year, will turn up the heat!
This week, Dakota Johnson said in the February 2016 issue of Vogue U.K. that she is “proud” of Fifty Shades, adding that she has no regrets starring alongside Jamie in the phenomenon movie.
“I don’t need to distance myself from [Fifty Shades of Grey],” the actress said. “The more work I do, the more the general public sees the different things I can do. Do I think it opened doors? Yeah. More people know my name.”
