The anti-Oscars also called out Kaley Cuoco.
While Sunday’s Academy Awards celebrates the biggest accomplishments of the year in film, Saturday night’s 36th annual Golden Raspberry Awards recognized the “worst” movies of the year.
Fifty Shades of Grey landed the most “wins” of the night, earning five dishonors including worst screenplay, worst actor for Jamie Dornan, worst actress for Dakota Johnson and the worst on-screen combo award.
E.L. James’ erotic book-turned-movie also got the worst film of the year award, which was shared with the 2016 remake of Fantastic Four. However, Fifty Shades is also up for an Academy Award: Best Original Song for The Weeknd’s “Earned It.”
The Razzies also issued a dishonor to a 2015 Academy Award winner. Eddie Redmayne — who is also nominated for an Oscar this year for The Danish Girl — was given the worst supporting actor award for his role in Jupiter Ascending. Meanwhile, The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco was deemed worst supporting actress for her part in Alvin and the Chipmunks: Road Chip.
Dakota Johnson has said that she does not regret starring in the sexy movie, she has admitted that her famous parents, Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, were not allowed to see Fifty Shades of Grey. However, she told ET that her new romantic comedy, How To Be Single, was more family friendly. In fact, she brought her parents along for the film’s New York City premiere.
“I’m so happy they’re here. That’s really special,” Johnson said on the red carpet. “And it won’t be awkward!”
