‘FBI’ Season 6 cast, release date and everything you need to know
Another season? We are on the case
After that wild FBI Season 5 finale, we couldn’t help but wonder about the status of our favorite federal agents. CBS has renewed the pipeline for Season 6, but it’s hard to say when we’ll get back to work with the team due to writer and actor strikes. Here’s everything you need to know about FBI Season 6.
FBI Season 6 release date
TLDR: While there’s no firm release date yet, FBI Season 6 will likely return at a later point in the 2023-24 TV season. The series has been delayed due to ongoing strikes by the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the writers returned to work the first week of October, led by showrunner Rick Eid.
DETAILS: We’re sure to get another chapter of our favorite crime-stopping federal agents: In May 2022, CBS renewed FBI for Seasons 5 and 6, with the series set to lasting at least until 2024.
Typically, FBI premieres in September, like four of the previous five seasons; however, dual strikes pushed back that release date. Although the WGA has come to a tentative agreement with the producers, that agreement still needs to be finalized and voted on by members; Additionally, the SAG strike needs to end before the FBI’s shooting can continue.
Currently, CBS is airing FBI reruns on Tuesdays at 9 a.m. on October 10. Whenever it returns, new episodes will air on Tuesdays at 8/7c.
FBI season 6 cast
TLDR: While the FBI hasn’t confirmed who will return to the field office, we expect the main cast to return.

Zidan, Jeremy Sisto as Jubal Valentine, Alana de la Garza as Isobel Castille, John Boyd as Stuart Scola and Katherine Renee Turner as Tiffany “Tiff” Wallace. Additionally, we may have a new addition to the cast, as Nina Chase (Shantel VanSanten) and Scola welcome their son, Douglas, in the Season 5 finale.

FBI season 6 plot
TLDR: Season 6 will pick up after the events of the Season 5 finale, in which Scola faced a life-or-death decision.
DETAILS: Season 6 will likely take place immediately after the events of the Season 5 finale (and the series’ 100th episode), where the team hunts down a religiously motivated killer who believes he can play God. However, in the real-life drama of the episode, Nina faces a deadly bacterial infection that causes her to go into premature labor, while Scola must choose who to save – mother or baby. Although he ultimately chose Nina, both of them survived, with Nina giving birth to their son, Douglas.
FBI season 5 summary
DETAILS: As they fight crime, the agents have dealt with some drama of their own this season. While Tiffany, Kelly, and OA were involved in cases, Jubal briefly relapsed, and Nina became pregnant with Scola’s child (and was later shot during a crime). In the season finale, Scola had to choose between Nina or her unborn child, but luckily they both survived.
