A description for the FBI: Most Wanted season 5 finale teases wedding preparations for Ray and Cora. Part of Dick Wolf’s shared universe, the FBI spin-off premiered on CBS in 2020 and follows the Bureau’s Fugitive Task Force unit, which includes agents Remy Scott (Dylan McDermott), Sheryll Barnes (Roxy Sternberg) and others. Ray Cannon (Edwin Hodge) was introduced in season 4, and after helping Cora Love (Caroline Harris) and her young son, a romance eventually blossomed. That relationship progressed throughout FBI: Most Wanted season 5, and in “The Return,” Ray and Cora finally got engaged.
A synopsis for the FBI: Most Wanted season 5 finale, titled “Powderfinger,” was shared recently by CBS. Airing May 21, on both the network and Paramount+, the episode will feature Ray and Cora’s wedding plans, along with a dangerous new case involving “dirty bomb.” Read the description below:
“Powderfinger” – The Fugitive Task Force races to catch the culprit threatening Manhattan with a dirty bomb. Meanwhile, Ray prepares to celebrate a major life milestone as his wedding to Cora approaches, on the fifth season finale of the CBS Original series FBI: MOST WANTED, Tuesday, May 21
Will FBI: Most Wanted Season 5 Have A Happy Ending?
Despite joining FBI: Most Wanted in season 4, Hodge’s character has become a fan-favorite, and after introducing Cora to Ray Cannon Sr. (Steven Williams), and suggests she moved in, it seemed like marriage was fast-approaching. As their romance grew, so did Ray’s relationship with Caleb (Ja’Siah Young), and it will be interesting to see how the potential responsibility of being a husband/parent affects his role on the Task Force. In “The Return,” Ray brought Cora back to the location of their first kiss and proposed, using his grandmother’s ring – which he acquired earlier in the episode.
Based on what CBS revealed, there may be no rough patches for Ray and Cora leading up to the season 5 finale, but that doesn’t guarantee a happy ending. Even if they get married without any hiccups, the couple could separate in FBI: Most Wanted season 6, or something could happen after the ceremony. It’s worth mentioning that the show has incorporated cliffhangers before, and last season focused on the death of Remy’s brother, concluding with an emotional revelation about his family.
Looking ahead, it will be interesting to find out how much the FBI: Most Wanted season 5 finale focuses on Ray and Cora’s wedding preparations. Given how their relationship has evolved, and how Hodge’s character decided to propose, audiences are likely hoping nothing goes wrong.
