Join us as we go through all the FBI characters we would love to see back on our screens again in 2024, but probably won’t below!

In the ever-evolving world of crime-solving dramas, FBI, which first captivated audiences in 2018, has undergone its fair share of heart-wrenching character departures and jaw-dropping plot twists. From brilliant agents with razor-sharp intellects to enigmatic profilers who can unravel the darkest minds, there are some characters who left an unforgettable mark on the crime drama.

Now that we’re well into FBI season 6, which debuted in mid-February 2024, fans of the show are yearning for the return of some beloved characters. Yet, despite the fervent desires of fans, the prospect of these FBI characters making a comeback is highly unlikely.

Curious about which characters are tugging at our nostalgic hearts? Well, you’re in luck! Join us as we take a deep dive into the FBI characters who NEED to return, but probably won’t, below.

So, without further ado, let’s dive into the world of our top characters we’re crossing our fingers to see grace our screens once again in 2024.

FBI characters who need to return (but probably won’t)

While we all secretly wish for a TV magic wand to bring back our favorite characters, reality often plays the spoiler. Whether written off, killed off, or simply choosing to exit stage left, the return of these characters in 2024 feels as improbable as catching a unicorn on your morning jog. But, just for the fun of it, let’s take a stroll down memory lane and revisit the characters we’d love to see more of, despite the odds stacked against their comeback.

Julian McMahon as Supervisory Special Agent Jess LaCroix

In a dramatic turn of events, Julian McMahon bid adieu to FBI: Most Wanted, sealing the fate of his character, Jess LaCroix, with a final bow in Season 3, Episode 14 titled Shattered (March 2022). The mutual decision between the producers and McMahon to part ways was sparked by a desire to explore new creative horizons. As much as we miss those piercing LaCroix stares, it seems the curtains have closed on his FBI chapter.

Ebonee Noel as Analyst Kristen Chazal

Season 2 of FBI delivered a plot twist more shocking than a caffeinated cat meme – Ebonee Noel’s character, Kristen Chazal, got the short end of the stabbing stick and decided to trade the hustle and bustle of FBI life for the charms of the Dallas Field Office. Exit unexpected, reasons unknown, but hey, that’s showbiz! Rumor has it, her strong advocacy for the Black Lives Matter movement on social media might have influenced her choice to step away from a show that paints law enforcement in a positive light. While we keep a flicker of hope alive, the chances of Kristen making a triumphant return seem slimmer than a conspiracy theorist’s corkboard connections. But keep your fingers crossed, just in case!

Kathleen Munroe as ADIC Rina Trenholm

In a plot twist that hit harder than a surprise birthday party, Kathleen Munroe’s character, ADIC Rina Trenholm, met an untimely end courtesy of Antonio Vargas. Critically wounded and later taken off life support, Rina bid farewell to the FBI world. Now, as much as we’d love to see her pop up on our screens again in 2024, it seems her character’s storyline has gone the way of a gripping crime novel – thrilling, but unlikely to have a sequel. The decision to send Rina to the great TV beyond was all part of the showrunners’ grand plan to keep us on the edge of our couches with exciting and, dare we say, realistic stories. RIP, Rina!

Kellan Lutz as Special Agent Kenny Crosby

Special Agent Kenny Crosby had us on the edge of our seats, but alas, Kellan Lutz decided it was time for Crosby to hang up his FBI hat. Shot and in need of immediate surgery, Crosby faced a long road to recovery, prompting him to bid adieu to the FBI: Most Wanted team and head back home to his parents in Oklahoma. Now, in a twist that sounds like it was lifted from a soap opera script, Kellan Lutz’s real-life decision to leave the show was driven by the heart-wrenching loss of his first-born daughter in 2020 and a desire to prioritize family over fictional crime-solving. While the door might be ajar for a comeback, the reality check suggests it’s as probable as finding a needle in a haystack. We’ll miss you, Crosby!
