Farewell Timothy McGee: Actor Sean Murray passed away at the age of 48 after a car accident md20

CBS has just revealed when NCIS fans will get to see their favorite shows back. The network also confirmed when NCIS: Sydney‘s pulled episode will officially debut.

NCIS: Sydney was originally set to start the midseason break on Dec. 16 after Season 3, Episode 9, “South of Nowhere.” However, just hours ahead of the fall finale, CBS pulled the episode without any explanation. Per TVLine, NCIS: Sydney, as well as the other two NCIS shows, have been delayed one week and will officially debut on Mar. 3.

The show’s return following the midseason break was supposed to be on Tuesday, Feb. 24. Now, the trio has been pushed back one week further, and “South of Nowhere” will officially mark the show’s return. The same outlet reports that the reason CBS pulled the episode was following the Bondi Beach shooting on Dec. 14. The three shows’ delay is because of the State of the Union, which will air on Feb. 24 at 9 p.m., as President Donald Trump delivers the annual address to Congress.

The pulled episode had previously received a promo clip a week before it was originally supposed to air, and teased that it would be an action-packed episode. The official synopsis reads as follows: “The team races to an Antarctica research base to investigate why a climate scientist killed a colleague on Polar Night Eve — and make it out before their plane engine freezes and they’re trapped in darkness for six months.”

Fans will go 11 weeks without NCIS and NCIS: Origins. The flagship series aired its fall finale on Dec. 16, and the episode featured Emily Wickersham’s exit as Ellie Bishop after 173 episodes. It also gave Jess her first assignment for NCIS Elite, and Ellie was her first target.

NCIS: Origins had entered the winter hiatus one week earlier on Dec. 9. Episode 8, “End of the Road,” alongside the flagship series, entered two complex love triangles between the main characters.

NCIS Lost Another Offshoot

Several days after CBS dropped the finale for NCIS and pulled the episode of NCIS: Sydney, another NCIS offshoot got the axe. Paramount+ and CBS Studios officially decided to cancel NCIS: Tony & Ziva after one season.

The cancellation marked a negative record for NCIS, which has seen multiple spinoffs along the way. However, NCIS: Tony & Ziva, which featured fan-favourite characters from the original, was the first one to last just one season. There hasn’t been an official reason for the cancellation, but it is likely due to the show’s declining viewership. While their time together in their spinoff series is done, the characters might be able to make their way back to the flagship series.

The NCIS franchise, including NCIS: Sydney, returns with new episodes on Mar. 3.
