Farewell Lizzie: Virgin River star Sarah Dugdale tragically passes away md20

Virgin River fans are anxiously waiting for news about the show’s return for Season 7, which will pick up after Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack’s (Martin Henderson) wedding day. In the Season 6 finale, the two finally tied the knot, but the high from the big day seemingly won’t last long.

When Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley) didn’t show up to the wedding, Jack went to check on her, only to find her home in disarray. The season concluded with Jack looking horrified by something he saw when he walked into Charmaine’s twins’ nursery. So, what’s ahead for everyone’s favorite Virgin River couple after that jaw-dropping final moment?

“Oh yeah, they’ll be tested,” Breckenridge, who stars in the upcoming Netflix holiday film My Secret Santa, confirmed to Swooon. “And they will have a romantic honeymoon! But it would not be Virgin River without some drama enfolded in the romance, you know?”

Of course, Breckenridge couldn’t say too much about what’s to come, but there’s certainly a lot on the horizon for Jack and Mel. The possibility of the pair being able to adopt a baby was introduced in Season 6 after one of Mel’s patients revealed that the couple she was going to place her baby with had pulled out of the adoption. The woman told Mel she now wanted to leave the child in Virgin River with her and Jack instead.

After Mel’s Season 5 miscarriage and past stillbirth, she put the thought of giving birth to her own child to rest, but this opened up another possible way for Jack and Mel to start a family. “It hurts her too much,” Henderson previously explained to Tudum. “I think it was really interesting to see the couple have to go through something so dark together and then find a way through that actually made them stronger and closer. Out of that is born this idea that they can still have their dream. It just might look a little different.”
