Fans Flock to New “Sanford and Son” Exhibit at Television History Museum

The Television History Museum in Los Angeles has opened a brand-new exhibit dedicated to Sanford and Son, and fans are turning out in droves to relive the show’s classic moments.

The centerpiece of the exhibit is a full-scale replica of the Sanford & Son Salvage living room, complete with the mismatched furniture, stacks of magazines, and the iconic armchair where Fred delivered many of his funniest lines. Visitors can even sit in the chair and pose for photos — a detail that’s proven extremely popular on social media.

The exhibit also features original costumes worn by Redd Foxx and Demond Wilson, production scripts with handwritten notes, and rare behind-the-scenes photographs.

Curator Marcus Hale says,

“The humor of Sanford and Son is timeless, and we wanted to give fans a place to connect with that history in person.”

The exhibit is scheduled to run for six months, but strong attendance numbers could extend its stay well into next year.
