‘Young Sheldon’ ending was so perfectly swoon-worthy that fans are now asking Chuck Lorre for more spin-off content!
After the fantastically perfect run of The Big Bang Theory for over 12 seasons spread across the course of almost twelve years, Young Sheldon began as a prequel spin-off in 2017, encompassing the life of a young bona fide genius Sheldon Cooper. But time goes by fast, and even this superhit spin-off has come to an end after its seven years of purely blissful run.
Needless to say, as much as the young Cooper managed to tug at fans’ heartstrings throughout the time his story continued, it didn’t hesitate to end on an incredibly emotional note that had fans crying their hearts out. And, ever since then, fans have also been showering showrunner Chuck Lorre with requests to create yet another spin-off, even if it’s only of TBBT.
Young Sheldon Absolutely Nailed it With its Series Finale
The prequel spin-off series to the fan-favorite The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon was unarguably one of the most entertaining pieces created in the history of television series, starring the fan-favorite Iain Armitage in the lead as the younger Sheldon Cooper.
After airing for seven seasons over the course of seven years, it finally ended its run as beautifully as it started. (Don’t read ahead if you haven’t been keeping up unless you wish to spoil the drama for yourself.)
In the 141st episode overall and the 14th episode titled Memoir of the seventh and final season, Sheldon Cooper gets baptized to fulfill Mary’s wishes, but only while dressed in a wet suit and full scuba diving gear to protect himself from the potentially unsanitary tub of water.
Jumping back to the present day, the adult Sheldon (played by Jim Parsons) is shown to have been writing his memoir about the childhood he spent in Texas this entire time. This version of Sheldon lives in a suburb LA home with his wife Amy Farrah Fowler and their son and daughter.
This was followed by Parsons’ Sheldon realizing he should give more time to his and Mayim Bailik‘s Fowler’s children just like George and Mary gave him, Georgie, and Missy, before imagining himself back in his childhood home that Mary ended up selling.
As he did so, he also recalled one of the cheekily heartwarming conversations he shared with Missy, which was followed by his arriving at the California Institute of Technology, where he claimed he was “exactly where I’m supposed to be,” when a professor asked him if he was lost.
We know that if you were a true fan of this superhit series by showrunner Chuck Lorre, you’re most certainly in tears right now at such an emotionally overwhelming series finale because we are, too. That being said, fans are now asking Lorre for more spin-off material as remarkable as YS.
Fans Now Want More Spin-Off Content From Chuck Lorre
After witnessing the true brilliance that was the series finale of Young Sheldon, a lot of fans are expressing just how emotional it drove them because of the immaculate way it ended. Others, in the meanwhile, are expressing ideas on what more spin-offs Lorre could bring to them.
Including ideas of a reboot of maybe Two and a Half Men or simply another The Big Bang Theory spin-off, here is everything that fans are expressing on X:
Well, Iain Armitage’s prequel series most certainly managed to hold fans’ excitement and anticipation until the very end and didn’t cease to deliver just the series finale that could overwhelm fans to the point of tears.
As for Chuck Lorre’s next spin-off project? Well, we can’t be too sure about it, so we’ll have to wait until further reports pop up on the matter.
Meanwhile, you can stream all seven seasons of Young Sheldon on Netflix, Prime Video, and fuboTV.
