It’s been three months since Young Sheldon wrapped up, and since then, Raegan Revord, who played Missy, has kept busy with some exciting activities alongside her fellow cast members. From attending award shows and writing books to meeting her co-stars’ new babies, she’s been making the most of her time post-show.
Missy was one of the most memorable characters on the series, and I’m thrilled to see her make appearances in the spinoff whenever she can. So, let’s dive into everything Raegan has been up to since the show’s finale!
Attended the Kids Choice Awards
Raegan Revord recently attended the Kids’ Choice Awards with her Young Sheldon castmates, where the show took home the award for Favorite Family TV Show.
True to their on-screen personalities, Raegan and Montana Jordan spent most of the event goofing around together, while Iain Armitage kept a more serious demeanor. It was a fun reminder of their Young Sheldon characters, bringing a bit of that sibling-like energy from the screen to real life!
Writing her own book
Raegan Revord, known for her role on Young Sheldon, recently shared that she’s working on her debut book titled Rules for Fake Girlfriends, set to release next autumn. The novel tells the story of a teenager who teams up with a new friend to complete a scavenger hunt her late mother left behind.
Balancing writing and acting wasn’t easy, as Raegan explained to People: “It’s kind of funny because it’s like you’re Missy, and then you’re a writer. And it was a learning curve.” This dual role taught her a lot about juggling her creative passions while still giving her best on set.
Continued working on her book club
Following the season finale of Young Sheldon, Raegan focused more on her book cub called Read with Raegan, which is aimed at young readers. She started the online club in 2019 and each month she picks a new book and then joins online discussions about the subject material.
She explained: “It kind of is trying to figure out [if the club is] attention-snagging enough that people will be like, ‘Oh I could put down a phone for this.’ I try to find stories that are interesting from the get-go and stories that are diverse because I want people to feel seen and find someone in each story that they can relate to.”
Spending time with her co-star’s baby
Raegan Revord finally got to meet her fellow Young Sheldon cast member, Montana Jordan’s, baby for the first time. His daughter is called Emma Rae, and fans were quick to spot the similarities between the actor’s daughter’s middle name and the first name of his on-screen sister, Raegan Revord.
Fans have speculated that the newborn’s middle name is a tribute to Raegan, as the spelling matches her first name. “Is the middle name for @raeganrevord! ” one fan commented on Montana’s post, whilst another fan said: “@raeganrevord I heard the middle name was in honour of you, congratulations girl! Hope it’s true!”
Raegan now refers to herself as Aunt Rae. She wrote in the caption: “Auntie Rae meet Emma Rae.” My heart is actually melting.
Filming new scenes for the spinoff
Raegan will be appearing in the second episode of the Young Sheldon spinoff, but it seems her character has gone through some changes.
She might seem a bit different from when we last saw her as fellow executive Steve Holland revealed to TV Insider: “We’re going to see a slightly different Missy. She’s gone through the loss of her dad and she’s acting out. She’s [becoming] rebellious.”
