Former NCIS: Los Angeles star Eric Christian Olsen turned 48 in true Olsen fashion — surrounded by love, laughter, and a healthy dose of dad dancing.
Wife Sarah Wright Olsen took to Instagram on June 10 to celebrate her husband’s big day, posting a series of sun-kissed snapshots and a heartwarming dance video that melted fans’ hearts. In the video, Eric and their three children — Wyatt, Esmé, and Winter — groove barefoot in their backyard, framed by balloons, laughter, and late spring sunshine.
“Happy birthday to the most joyful, hilarious, endlessly loving man I know,” Sarah wrote in the caption. “You make life brighter for all of us every single day.”
The post quickly went viral, with fans and former co-stars jumping into the comments to share their well wishes. Daniela Ruah (Kensi Blye), Eric’s long-time NCIS: LA partner in crime-fighting, commented, “Happy birthday, brother! Love to you and the whole gorgeous crew!”
The celebration included a family hike in the California hills, a backyard dinner party complete with homemade pizzas (Wyatt’s personal touch, according to Sarah), and a cake decorated by the kids. Sarah also shared a throwback reel of Eric on the NCIS: LA set, calling him “a man who brought laughter to every room, including 15-hour shoot days.”
Since the crime procedural wrapped in 2023, Olsen has shifted his focus to producing and family life. He co-founded a production company, Cloudline Studios, and is currently developing family-friendly and adventure content. But on his birthday, work took a backseat.
“Birthdays are for being goofy, barefoot, and fully present,” Olsen said in a rare personal Instagram Story. “I feel like the luckiest guy alive.”
