Emily Osment is filing for divorce from her husband Jack Anthony after just five months of marriage.
The Young Sheldon star filed for divorce on Friday, March 7, citing irreconcilable differences, per court documents obtained by PEOPLE. TMZ was the first to report the news.
Osment, who turns 33 on Monday, March 10, and Anthony tied the knot on Oct. 12, 2024, after their June 2023 engagement. Osment listed their date of separation as Dec. 7, 2024. The couple, who do not have any children together, has a prenup.
“I think with any big decision in your life, whether it’s relationships or work or whatever it may be, you have to firmly plant both feet in that decision,” she said in a statement to PEOPLE. “Ultimately, it didn’t work out.”

At the time of their June 2023 engagement, she shared a sweet Instagram post, saying that she was “deliriously happy” as she showed off her engagement ring — a square diamond next to a circular emerald encased in gold.
“I did not know life could be this sweet,” the actress wrote in the caption. “I am so proud of the life we have built together and the people we have become over the last few years.”
“This love is so big and so uniquely ours and I know it can do anything,” she continued. “I am so honored to stand next to you every day. I love you, Jack.” Osment did not formally announce the couple’s relationship via social media, but in October 2021, she shared the first photo of him to her Instagram account, when they attend a Phish concert.

Leading up to her wedding in May 2024, she spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about the planning process and said she “cannot wait to be married.”
Days after the two tied the knot, she appeared in an interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings, and confirmed that she and Anthony had gotten married.
Though she didn’t share the details, Osment said, “It’s great so far. These past four days have been glorious.”
Since Osment has filed for divorce, she seemingly removed photos of her and Anthony from her Instagram profile.
