Eamonn Walker Makes Powerful One-Episode Return to Chicago Fire md14

Nearly a year after stepping away as a series regular, fan favorite Eamonn Walker is returning to Chicago Fire — but just for one intense, highly anticipated episode.

The 62-year-old actor, who portrayed the iconic Wallace Boden for 12 seasons, will reprise his role on April 16. Now serving as First Deputy Commissioner, Boden is called back to oversee a post-incident analysis after a devastating house fire collapses with a firefighter trapped inside.

Showrunner Andrea Newman promises the episode — titled “Post-Mortem” — will be unlike anything the series has done before, featuring flashbacks, shifting points of view, and a high-stakes investigation led by Boden himself.

Walker’s last appearance came in the season 12 finale, where Boden’s promotion explained his departure from Firehouse 51. His exit paved the way for Dermot Mulroney, who joined season 13 as the new Chief Dom Pascal.

Season 12 was a year of major changes overall, including Kara Killmer’s emotional farewell and Taylor Kinney’s long-awaited return. But for one night this spring, Chicago fans will get exactly what they’ve been missing — Chief Boden back in action, commanding the firehouse with his signature strength and heart.
