Drama Alert: Georgie & Mandy Will Clash Over Kids in ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’! qc01

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage inevitably ends with the lead characters divorcing, and I’m positive I know why their marriage will end. Georgie and Mandy’s relationship has been tumultuous ever since they met in Young Sheldon. After all, both were lying about their ages.

Georgie and Mandy’s marriage is far from perfect. They live in Mandy’s childhood bedroom in a house with Mandy’s parents. Mandy and her mom don’t get along, and her mom despises Georgie no matter how hard he tries to be a good son-in-law. To add to the stress, Mandy neglected to tell Georgie about her massive credit card debt before they got married.

While all of those reasons could be causes for divorce, I believe there’s an even stronger reason why Georgie and Mandy’s relationship won’t work out. This reason was teased in season 1, but it will likely play a role in future seasons as well.

In Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage season 1, episode 16, the lead characters had an argument over whether to have more kids. Mandy wasn’t sure she ever wanted more kids, especially before her career was on the right track. Georgie, on the other hand, was positive he wanted more kids. Plus, he wanted his kids to be close in age.

Despite all their other issues, I think this is the real reason Georgie and Mandy will get divorced. Clearly, they aren’t on the same page about the future and their family, and it will eventually tear them apart.

Of course, there’s always the possibility that Mandy will change her mind. However, even if she does, the fact that Georgie and Mandy got married without knowing what their future together looked like is a big red flag.

Had Mandy not gotten pregnant, she and Georgie likely wouldn’t have survived the massive lie. Sure, Mandy also lied about her age, but she came clean much earlier and was an adult of legal drinking age. Although Mandy and Georgie definitely love each other, their relationship is precarious.

A big reason Mandy is lukewarm about having more children is due to her career and her desire to potentially leave her hometown. She and Georgie have already fought about the possibility of moving to a bigger city, as Georgie doesn’t want to leave his family. Mandy’s desire for a career outweighs any desire for a larger family, and I believe that will be the end of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.
