DOOL The Rinse September 17: Is Cat Turning the Tables on EJ, or Falling Into His Trap? md17

On the September 17 episode of Days of our Lives, EJ and Cat broke bread, talked about their checkered pasts, and even took a few swipes at a bright future. There were definite sparks. But nothing with this pairing is ever straightforward. Who will end up getting what they want out of whom?

It’s EJ for the Win

EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) never does anything without thinking of how it could give him the advantage over… someone. (Belle [Martha Madison] may have been the exception, and look how that ended. And he didn’t even get her to go easy on Johnny [Carson Boatman] as a result. So we doubt he’ll be trying that approach again.)

So when EJ gave Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) a job, told her about his free clinic, suggested they grab a bite to eat, and told her he respected why she pretended to be Abigail (Marci Miller) to fool Chad (Billy Flynn)—it was to protect her family—he had to have an ulterior motive.

Does he just want to steal a girl from his brother? Does he think Cat will help him with his plans to take over Salem University Hospital? Is he looking to make Belle – and even Sami (Alison Sweeney) – jealous? Or does EJ know Cat is working with Rafe (Galen Gering) to bring down the DiMeras, and think he can turn her first?

It’s Cat for the Win

Cat is no innocent. She succeeded in conning Chad and nearly getting him to marry her. She turned on the charm and got out of both criminal charges and ensured her mom’s freedom. And now she’s working undercover… and getting EJ to confide in her, bit by bit.

If she can also convince him she has genuine feelings for him – you know, like she did with his brother? – then Cat may not only complete her assignment with distinction. She may prove what a good person she is to Chad. So what if it’s at EJ’s expense? She’s done worse….
