DOOL September 22 Recap: How Sophia Became Salem’s Newest Vixen md17

When Sophia first showed up on Days of Our Lives, we were primed to think she’d be the bad girl. Mostly because she was interested in Tate, a boy that Holly, the designated good girl, had her eye on. (Who cared that Holly’s lies about what caused her New Year’s Eve drug overdose sent Tate to real-life juvenile hall, but she whined until he forgave her and understood that it was partly his fault. For, you know, being there.)

Then we knew Sophia was the bad girl because she slept with Tate while knowing full well that Holly still wanted him, even though they’d broken up. And then Sophia got pregnant and ruined her own life, just to make Holly sad. Sophia is awful. Except she really hasn’t been. She’s been sad, she’s been desperate, she’s been traumatized. But, on the September 22 episode, we finally saw some sparks of the vixen she always should have been…

Who’s Been Sleeping in Tate’s Bed?

Sophia (Rachel Boyd) didn’t hook up with Tate (Leo Howard). Instead, he attempted to manipulate her emotions by kissing Sophia… all in an attempt to get her to spill about their baby. She even told Ari (Marissa Reyes) that nothing happened. But then, when Holly (Ashley Puzemis) confronted Sophia about it, Sophia made it seem like, yeah, maybe something did. Holly threw a tantrum, punched Tate in the nose, and then stomped out, breaking up with him, which was a very mature reaction. Sophia seemed pleased by her reaction. Also, she was dressed all in black today. In case we missed her new personality.

Johnny’s Chickens Come Home to Roost

But the scene that really intrigued us was when Sophia told Johnny (Carson Boatman) that he and Chanel (Raven Bowens) backing out of adopting her baby nearly ruined her life. Everything that Sophia has done since then was a result of Johnny’s selfishness. The way Sophia said it made us think she had a plan to get revenge. And we are so here for it! Sophia was supposed to be a bad girl. Maybe now she’ll actually do something to earn that title.
