Some beloved characters from Young Sheldon will make a special appearance in the spin-off Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.
Following its successful seven-season run, Young Sheldon has paved the way for this new prequel series featuring Sheldon’s older brother, Georgie (Montana Jordan), and his wife, Mandy (Emily Osment).
One episode will serve as a family reunion for the Coopers, showcasing guest appearances from Young Sheldon stars Zoe Perry, Annie Potts, Raegan Revord, and Craig T. Nelson.
Potts shared the exciting news on Instagram with a reel of behind-the-scenes moments, captioning it: “Some behind the scenes shenanigans on ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage!'”
The video also features Jordan and Osment alongside Rachel Bay Jones, Will Sasso, Dougie Baldwin, and Jessie Prez.
According to TV Line, the Cooper family will reunite in the fifth episode of the first season, which will have a Thanksgiving theme.
Perry, who portrayed Mary Cooper, and Potts, known as the beloved Meemaw, will return, along with Nelson as Dale Ballard, Meemaw’s on-again, off-again boyfriend.
Although Revord, who played Missy, had expressed earlier this year that she hadn’t been approached for the spin-off, she will also be making an appearance.
Notably absent is Sheldon himself, played by Iain Armitage, who left for Pasadena to attend Caltech in the series finale. Armitage has spoken highly of his co-stars, praising their talent and expressing excitement about the new show.
“I can’t wait to see what they do,” he said, adding that while he feels his co-stars can shine on their own, he would love the chance to cameo if given the opportunity.
