Don’t Believe the Hype: Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin Are Still Madly in Love Exclusive

Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin are still going strong.

Despite reports and rumors swirling about a potential breakup, a rep for the Madame Web actress tells PEOPLE that she and the Coldplay frontman have not gone their separate ways.

“They are happily together,” the rep says of Johnson, 34, and Martin, 47.

Most recently, the couple were spotted at Glastonbury Festival in the U.K., where Johnson was on hand to support her fiancé during his band’s headlining set.

Johnson’s attendance at Martin’s gig came about after a source told PEOPLE that the couple’s relationship was in a good place.

“They’ve had ups and downs, but now they’re definitely back on,” the insider said at the time, adding that the duo is “going strong.”

The pair were first romantically linked in 2017 when they were spotted on a sushi date together in Los Angeles after Martin finalized his divorce from ex Gwyneth Paltrow in 2016.

Martin and Johnson took their relationship up a notch in 2019, with a source at the time telling PEOPLE that they were “pretty serious.”

Paltrow — who shares daughter Apple, 20, and son Moses, 18 with Martin — has also given Johnson her public stamp of approval, telling Harper’s Bazaar in 2020, “I love her.”

“I can see how it would seem weird because it’s sort of unconventional. But I think, in this case, just having passed through it iteratively, I just adore her,” added the Oscar winner, 51.

Paltrow expressed her fondness for Johnson again in 2023 during an Instagram Q&A, telling her followers, “We’re actually very good friends. I love her so much. She’s an adorable, wonderful person.”
