Donnie Wahlberg shares some fun times backstage with his Blue Bloods co-star Tom Selleck
Blue Bloods fans were treated to a brand new episode on Friday and star Donnie Walhberg also treated fans to a behind-the-scenes look at the filming process.
The snap was shared on his Instagram and features Donnie and co-star Will Estes sitting in a car. Donnie, dressed as Detective Danny Reagan, while Will sits in the passenger seat as Sergeant Jamie Reagan, Danny’s brother.
Blue Bloods is a police procedural drama about members of the fictional Reagan family, an Irish-American Catholic family in New York City with a history of work in law enforcement. The pair have been on the show since its inception in 2010, alongside Tom Selleck, who plays their father, Commissioner Frank Reagan.
The photo comes after Donnie and wife Jenny McCarthy revealed the first trailer for their new documentary, Spellers, and fans fear it could mean Donnie will retire from acting. Jenny took to Instagram on Thursday to introduce the trailer and explain the concept of the inspirational film in the caption.
Jenny and her son, Evan, who was diagnosed with Autism at the age of two, wrote: “Donnie and I are incredibly proud to be Executive Producers of a groundbreaking, emotional documentary So excited and tearful, Spellers.”
She continues: “Inspired by the book Underrated, the new feature-length documentary SPELLERS challenges conventional wisdom about a marginalized group: the non-verbal, autistic people, who most ‘experts’ believe have cognitive disabilities.”
However, Donnie has played Danny Reagan on the CBS show since 2010, and it looks like he has no plans to quit anytime soon – because in December 2022, it was revealed that he will be staging two series new police drama with the network.
