CBS has officially greenlit Boston Blue (working title), a brand-new expansion of the Blue Bloods universe set to premiere in the 2025-2026 broadcast season.
The spin-off will see Donnie Wahlberg reprising his beloved role as NYPD Detective Danny Reagan. This time, Danny takes on a new challenge—joining the Boston Police Department, where he is partnered with Detective Lena Peters, the eldest daughter of a distinguished law enforcement family.
Developed by S.W.A.T. writers Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis, Boston Blue promises to bring the same mix of high-stakes crime-solving and heartfelt storytelling that made Blue Bloods a fan favorite for over a decade. With Wahlberg leading the charge, viewers can expect intense action, gripping cases, and plenty of Reagan-style determination in this thrilling new chapter.
