Disney’s ‘The Acolyte’, a New ‘Star Wars’ Series, Releases First Trailer!

After a series of major announcements recently, Disney’s new Star Wars project, The Acolyte, has fans excited in more ways than one. The series has been confirmed to premiere on Disney+ on June 4, 2024 with two episodes released on the same day, and as fans are warming up for this highly anticipated series, the House of the Mouse just released the first official trailer for the series.

The Acolyte will take us back to the High Republic, approximately 100 years before The Phantom Menace, and will explore a period of the franchise’s history that has not been explored on the screen until now. The series has been described as “a mystery-thriller that will take the audience into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.” The trailer that has just been released affirms this description:

The series will significantly expand the live-action and animated world of Star Wars, confirming that Disney indeed does have major plans for the franchise, which is certainly going to make fans happy. The Acolyte will hopefully continue the success of The Mandalorian, Kenobi, and Ahsoka, providing us with another major and important Star Wars story. The series is going to have a total of 8 episodes.

As we’ve stated, the series is going to premiere on Diseny+ exclusively on June 4, 2024.
