Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor is trading in her ballroom gown for a slice of vengeance pie in the trailer for the new family thriller Anniversary. At first glance, Dynevor’s character Liz appears to be the perfect girlfriend. The trailer opens with her rehearsing what she’ll say to her boyfriend Josh’s (Dylan O’Brien) parents upon first meeting them. “Mr. and Mrs. Taylor, it’s lovely to meet you,” she says with a smile. “I almost forgot — happy anniversary.”
When she comes face-to-face with Josh’s parents, played by Diane Lane and Kyle Chandler, respectively, Lane’s character, Elle, can’t put her finger on where she’s met Liz before. Then it finally hits her: Liz was her former student. “She’s radical in her ideology,” Elle says and later adds, “I don’t think it’s a coincidence that she’s attached herself to Josh.” Things go from bad to worse when one of Josh’s sisters disappears without a trace. Completely shattered, Elle confronts Liz and says, “You’ve obliterated us. What more do you want?” The trailer ends with Liz smiling menacingly in the mirror. Watch the full clip below.
Directed by Jan Komasa, Anniversary arrives in theaters on October 29, 2025, and Lane, Dynevor, Chandler and O’Brien aren’t the only notable names rounding out the star-studded cast. The thriller also stars Madeline Brewer (The Handmaid’s Tale), Zoey Deutch (Before I Fall, Vampire Academy), Mckenna Grace (Young Sheldon) and Daryl McCormack (Twisters). Aside from starring in Anniversary, Mckenna Grace has another exciting film debuting in theaters in October — she also stars in the upcoming adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s 2019 YA novel Regretting You, with Allison Williams, Dave Franco and Mason Thames rounding out the ensemble cast.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Lane shared how excited she is for everyone to see Anniversary. As she explained:
“I’m grateful for this powerful, timely story and the inspiring, generous cast who brought it to life. Jan Komasa’s brilliant direction of Lori Rosene-Gambino’s script holds a mirror to our national identity crisis through the lens of one family. I’m so proud of my Anniversary family!”
Will Phoebe Dynevor Ever Return to Netflix’s ‘Bridgerton’?
After leaving the popular regency series Bridgerton, Phoebe Dynevor made her feature film debut in 2021’s The Colour Room, where she played the role of Clarice Cliff, a pioneering ceramic artist who rose to fame during the 1920s. Since then, she has starred in a number of films, including Fair Play (2023), Bank of Dave (2023) and Inheritance, which had a limited theatrical release in January 2025. In 2023, Dynevor revealed that she wouldn’t return for Bridgerton Season 3. At the time, when asked about her character Daphne Bridgerton’s possible return, she told Screen Rant, “Sadly, not in Season 3. Potentially in the future. But Season 3, I’m just excited to watch as a viewer.” With Regé-Jean Page’s continued absence from the show, it remains uncertain if Daphne could make an appearance in Season 4 or Season 5. Hopefully, like Dynevor said, she can make a cameo in upcoming seasons — even if only for a few seconds.
