Rising young actor Cary Christopher (Days of Our Lives, Mr. Mom) will guest star in Lanterns, based on the Green Lantern DC comic.
The series, from Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King, follows new recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.
Christopher is set to play Young Noah, a polite and charming small-town kid. Quite gifted for his age and effortlessly good at whatever he tries, he’s happiest when passing a football.
He joins the previously announced cast: Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, Kelly MacDonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Ulrich Thomsen, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Sherman Augustus, J. Alphonse Nicholson, Jason Ritter, Nathan Fillion, Chris Coy, and Paul Ben-Victor.
HBO produces the eight-episode series Lanterns in association with Warner Bros Television and DC Studios. Mundy, who serves as showrunner, Lindelof, and King co-wrote and executive produced. James Hawes directed the first two episodes and executive produced, with Stephen Williams, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Alik Sakharov also tapped to direct.
Christopher made his acting debut at three years old in the Vudu/MGM streaming series Mr. Mom. Soon after, he landed the role of Thomas DiMera on NBC/Peacock’s Days of Our Lives. For his performance, he received a 2023 Daytime Emmy nomination at seven years old. Christopher will make his feature film debut in August in Warner Bros’ Weapons, the mystery-horror film from director Zach Cregger.
Looking ahead, he will appear as a series regular in Amazon MGM’s faith-based drama series It’s Not Like That and in a recurring guest role in Spider-Noir, the upcoming MGM+ and Prime Video series led by Nicolas Cage. His additional television credits include appearances on Fuller House, American Horror Stories, Station 19, NCIS, The Rookie, 9-1-1, and High Potential. Christopher is represented by Zuri Agency, Evolve Talent Management, and Yorn, Levine, Barnes.
